Service Description

Moving on from puppy part one to completing the imprinting phase of your puppies training life, progressively making the exercises more challenging within the class setting, as we start to introduce and translate more hand signals into verbal commands. By the end of this course your puppy will: - Learn to stay sit - Stay down - Play retrieve and give up the toy happily - Strengthen the lead work with distractions - String exercises together to lengthen the attention span - Upon Completion awarding of the Puppy Certificate Week One: Goal setting Handler to be able to put the handle of lead under a chair leg (whilst sitting on the chair, always remove when you stand up) puppy learns to settle readily Stand for examination (preparation for the Vet/groomer Lead work introducing distraction to lead training Week two: Dog swap - getting to know each other's dogs Recall with distractions Sit stay Introducing withdrawal of hand signal on the down - translating hand signals to the spoken word Week 3 Down stay Formal recall with stay Retrieve Week 4 Jumping up Feeding and food manners Retrieve Stays continued Week 5 Heel off lead Recap of exercises Demonstration and practice for a test Week 6 Test & Awarding of Certificates By increasing the pressure in class on both dog and handler we prepare you both for the real-life stresses of walking your dog.

Cancellation Policy

Please be aware Course fees & deposits are non-refundable & non-transferable, if you are purchasing a place on a course with limited places you cannot transfer to a different time or class after the course has commenced, as this is too disruptive for the other group. However should a course be cancelled or a start date postponed you are fully entitled to a full refund if you cannot make the new dates.
