Intermediate Three – Advancing Skills & Strengthening Bonds Welcome to the penultimate stage of our training programme! By now, you and your dog share a deep bond and a solid foundation in training. In Intermediate Three, we take those skills and add fun, complexity, and new challenges to stretch both handler and dog in an enjoyable way. This course introduces "Go to Bed" on command, an essential skill for managing your dog at home and in public spaces. We also refine the Retrieve exercise, adding complexity to make it more engaging. Your dog will now respond more readily and confidently to new training tasks. What Your Dog Will Learn: 🐾 Off-lead Stays with increased duration and distance 🐾 The "A" Recall – Recall to Heel for precision 🐾 Going to Bed on command 🐾 Off-lead Heelwork & Group Stewarding 🐾 Retrieve with added complexity 🐾 Weaving off-lead (if the group is ready) Week-by-Week Breakdown: Week 1 – Foundations & Precision 🔹 Goal setting & introductions 🔹 Calming stroking 🔹 Heelwork 🔹 Formal recall as a group 🔹 Introduction to "A" Recall – Recall to Heel Week 2 – Building Distance & New Skills 🔹 Off-lead Sit & Down Stays (1 min Sit, 2 min Down at 5 paces) 🔹 Retrieve 🔹 "A" Recall 🔹 Introduction of "Go to Bed" Week 3 – Strengthening Commands 🔹 Down away from the handler on the dog's bed 🔹 "A" Recall 🔹 Off-lead Heelwork 🔹 Stewarding group Heelwork 🔹 Retrieve progression Week 4 – Adding Complexity 🔹 Stewarding practice 🔹 Down on the bed 🔹 Stays 🔹 Retrieve 🔹 Off-lead Weave (if ready) Week 5 – Refining & Test Preparation 🔹 Recap & improvement week, focusing on weaker exercises 🔹 Down Stay off-lead 🔹 Down on the bed 🔹 Test run-through Week 6 – Graduation! 🔹 Final test 🔹 Awarding of Certificates Preparing for Advanced Training At this level, your dog is developing excellent focus, control, and responsiveness.
