Service Description
Due to annual leave the course breaks for weeks 17th and 24th March - the course will therefore roll on to the 7th April to compensate. The ultimate dog training exercise for safety out on a walk has to be the dog that will drop into a down position at a distance! By the end of this course, the handler will understand the process and begin to see their dog respond to verbal commands at a short distance. Once that is established, it will be just a matter of practice and time to bring the ultimate control! By the end of this course, you will also have steadiness and distance to the stay exercises, a comfortable working-dog close to other dogs and people. Begin the process of teaching your dog on the bed training. Week one: Goal setting and introductions warm-up and run through of close exercises Footwork or improving body language to improve dogs heel training Week two: Distance control Down on the move Meet and greet Examination of the dog (vet and grooming check) Stays Week three: Play retrieve On the bed training (please bring a piece of bedding) Formal recall Week four: Down on command away from handler Running through all exercises with distractions to increase the difficulty Working in close proximity to other dogs Week five: Recap and improver week focusing on the weaker exercises (this may vary from group to group) Stewarding Formal recall Test run through Week six: The test!
