Service Description

Avril, thedogcalmer founder, once lived with a dog that wouldn’t always come to call, resulting in the dog being hit by a car. Fortunately, she did recover but after a long and extensive recuperation! This experience made Avril determined to do everything in her power to help prevent other owners from going through this ordeal! Avril is delighted to share her knowledge with you following years of researching and refining recall training. The real secret to training any dog to come to call is time, effort and, of course, the correct information and equipment! thedogcalmer Trainer Caroline has further helped Avril improve the recall method; her experience from training several dogs to work in the field adds dimension to the course. Avril is delighted to be working with Caroline on these training sessions. At different ages and stages of development and training, dogs require different approaches to their training. By training in small groups, we can gradually introduce all the distractions your dog needs to learn to recall from other dogs—people—and even a pony and chickens! Intensive small groups of a maximum of 5 handlers with Avril or Caroline as tutor – one-off sessions to take the dog and handler through the process, from beginner, intermediate to advanced level the final challenge with all distractions) All dogs must receive regular and consistent training until maturity (at least two years old) to produce a well-balanced and obedient companion. thedogcalmer provides the complete program to help you achieve this goal. The recall session Held in approximately 2 acres of fully fenced paddock in a beautiful rural setting near Abbess Roding.
