Service Description

This will be our first class outside with the puppies after the winter training in the hall and that also offers us new opportunities for training in a very natural way, this course focuses on very natural training in our fully fenced 2 acre paddock. The three main focuses for the groups will be Social, Lead training and coming to call, all with the distraction of each other. Week one: The class will begin by the cars; please leave your dog in the car while we have introductions and goal setting amongst the group. Train the dogs to calmly get out of the vehicle, safely and politely, to establish good behaviour from the first moments. Lead work training to the paddock, treating this as the start of any walk and again showing good behaviour before we arrive at the paddock More lead training around the paddock for the humans to feel at home Training for coming to call to the ability of the group with pointers on homework Training walk return to the car park Week two: Training walk to the paddock including short recalls In the paddock, social exercises focused on jumping up or how to train not to jump up! Grooming and examination Tying up exercise Week three: New social exercise and group training for distractions Recall training individually on a long line Tying up and stay training Week four: Recall training long line and/or off the lead as appropriate for each dog More social exercises as a group Down on the move (preparation for an emergency down training) Week five: Tying up and stay training Recall in pairs Social exercises incorporating down on them move Recap calming stroking, grooming and examination Off lead heel training Week six: Avril or Caroline will meet you at the cars but then leave you and watch how you manage your dogs and the walk to the paddock, and there’s a prize for the best-behaved dog coming out of the car and walking to the paddock in each group! Stay training (rosettes for those achieving a one minute sit and a one minute down with the handler one step away on lead) Social exercises Recall training in pairs or more, if the dogs are ready Off lead, heel training through cones, rosette to all who complete safely At the end of the course, discussion and sharing of achievements!

Cancelation Policy

Please be aware Course fees & deposits are non-refundable & non-transferable, if you are purchasing a place on a course with limited places you cannot transfer to a different time or class after the course has commenced, as this is too disruptive for the other group. However should a course be cancelled or a start date postponed you are fully entitled to a full refund if you cannot make the new dates.
