Instructor Course

The courses contains four main elements:
1. Teach dog training exercises in a confidant and competent manner.
2. Teach dog owners to train their dogs effectively in a class setting.
3. Presentation and communication skills.
4. Course design and lesson planning.

thedogcalmer.com is committed to provide students with a support network from registration onward. The courses are accredited by the Awarding Body Consortium Centra. Also all courses are currently aligning with the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme. Former students are already practising as Behaviour Counsellors and Instructors.

Dog Behaviour/Psychology Course

  • How dogs think
  • How dogs communicate

Behaviour Counselling Course

This course looks in detail at the main behaviour problems: 
  • Separation Anxiety
  • Attention seeking & related behaviour
  • Dominance
  • Submissiveness
  • Pack law
  • Toilet training
  • Play biting


You will learn how to treat these behaviours effectively and the human interactions that can create, and in turn, resolve them. This course is aimed at anyone who wants to understand dogs at a deep level, from pet owners through to dog professionals e.g. dog instructors, groomers, veterinary nurses and related work. On completion of the course students will receive a Certificate in Dog Behaviour.
